Mrs Oluwakemi Mary Adewoye

Head, Meadow Hall Foundation
Oluwakemi Mary Adewoye is the head of Meadow Hall Foundation, which is focused on providing underprivileged children with quality and well-rounded education. In her role as head of the Foundation, she provides strategic direction, leadership and drives collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders.

Oluwakemi has worked in the public and private sectors of the education systems in the United States and Nigeria. She has over 10-years’ experience in teaching, professional development, and school improvement.

Oluwakemi is an advocate for the empowerment of teachers and bridging the gap between privileged and underprivileged students. She believes every Nigerian child should have access to quality basic education and she is an active subscriber to the maxim that the quality of an education system cannot surpass the quality of its teachers. She taught mathematics at the British International School, Lagos and Intermediate School 78 in New York.

She has also collaborated with Bethesda Child Support Agency to design, develop and deliver school improvement (needs assessment, intervention design, and curriculum alignment) and professional development programmes (development of foundational skills) to teachers and school leaders in a number of underprivileged schools across Lagos.

She is a 2004 City University of New York Teaching Opportunity Scholar and elected to ‘Who’s Who among Students in American Universities & Colleges’ in 2006.

She holds a B.Sc. Degree in Computer and Information Science, and M.Sc. Degree in Mathematics Education both from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She is also currently completing a Ph.D. Degree in Education with a specialisation in Assessment, Evaluation and Accountability at Walden University.
