ReadySetWork (RSW) is an employability and entrepreneurship programme aimed at preparing final year students of tertiary institutions in Lagos State for immediate entry into the workforce as employees and employers of labour by equipping them with soft skills, business tools, and a mindset reorientation to the world of work.
The 2017 edition accommodated 2,000 final year students from 6 tertiary institutions in Lagos State. The programme ran from July 1st to September 23rd 2017 and the graduation ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 17th 2017 at Landmark Event Center, Lagos. The students were taught and mentored by 118 facilitators across various industries and sectors.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule said that ReadySetWork was developed as a result of the complaints of the private sector organizations about the unemployability of Nigerian graduates. Also representing the heads of tertiary institutions in Lagos State, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun, reiterated that ReadySetWork has helped participants develop skills such as critical thinking, clear communications, and complex problem-solving.

Some of the participants were also offered internship opportunity at Meadow Hall where they would have the opportunity to practice all they have learned in an enabling environment under the supervision of experienced teachers.
According to Mrs. Kehinde Nwani, CEO of Meadow Hall Group, “The synergy between the Lagos State Government and institutions in the private sector to continue to raise the standard of education in Nigeria, and to improve the employability prospects of our final year students in Lagos State is commendable and Meadow Hall is honoured to be a part of this noble initiative”. She also charged the participants to remember that knowledge is not enough and that constant practice is needed for mastery; the teaching profession requires passion and love for children. Mrs. Nwani said, “To succeed, follow through on actions. Work to achieve your plan. Be determined to deliver excellently and avoid distractions.”
