PASSION… DON’T GIVE UP ON IT!

Acrimony!!! Hmmm… what a movie! The first time I watched it was with a group of friends – all girls to be precise so you can imagine the noise making and shouting during the movie. I then decided to watch it again alone so I could really digest and understand the movie which I did.
Now, to be honest, there are million different opinions that different people could have about the movie. The woman should have done this; the woman should have done that; the man was wicked; the woman was not smart; the other woman he ended up with was smart and so on and so forth. While I have my opinion about what they both should have done and not done as well, one thing that really struck me which no one really noticed or seemed to talk about, was the zeal and passion the guy had about his battery invention. Now, let us do some recap.
This guy was in the university and been a smart and intelligent dude, he was working on some battery invention that was very powerful and could bring in a lot of money. He wrote letters and sent videos every week to this particular company that could help him finance his invention as well. He did that for many years because he knew the worth and power of his invention but he still did not get any response from them.
Now pause for a moment and think…. If it were you and you had not gotten any response would you have continued sending letters to that company? Well, I am sure I would have given up a long time ago. The man eventually gave up when he got a call from the security of the company telling him to stay away but he had not given up for a good number of years. He eventually got called again, however, the company just wanted him to sell his invention and his research work to them for some amount which way less than the worth of his invention. He declined because he knew his invention was worth more than that. Eventually he got called back and was given a huge amount of money for it and was in business with the company.
What is that thing that you are so passionate about? Is it fashion, writing even drawing? Whatever it is, do not give up on it. Keep pushing and keep trying and know the worth of that particular thing. Now do not do this to the detriment of people but keep on it no matter how long it takes. Another is thing to do is pray committing yourself and your steps to God. Believe me, there is nothing that prayer cannot do.
Two people I always marvel about are Dorothy Steel and the late Stephen Hawkings. Dorothy was the old lady in Black Panther who is 92 years old and recently started pursuing her acting career at the age of 88. As for the late Stephen Hawkings, he had a neuron disease which later left him paralysed for life with the inability to walk or speak. Did this stop him? No! He went on to publish a number of books that have been recognised by the science society in many countries.
So what exactly is stopping you and me? Be determined and don’t give up on your passion no matter what life throws at you.
